7 of the Best Coffee Shops in Denver

7 of the Best Coffee Shops in Denver

7 Best Coffee Shops in Denver, Colorado

I’ve been to dozens of coffee shops in Denver so you don’t have to. Although, you should still keep going to local coffee shops. There's nothing better. But, if you want a cheat sheet to some of the best in Denver, this list makes it easy. Whether you are just trying to find the perfect coffee spot to grab your favorite drink, go out for a coffee date, get some work done, or just chill and read an inspiring book, you’ll be happy you found this list.

I'll do a second edition of this list because there are too many great spots to choose from.

1. Steam Espresso Bar - LoHi Location (https://www.steamespressobar.com/)

This location has a lot going for it. First off, it’s in a restored firehouse and has one of the coolest looking interiors. Plenty of seating inside and a unique outdoor patio situated under trees with a calm, garden feel. I’m a personal fan of their pastry selection, boasting one of the larger varieties you will find around town. You can find a blueberry muffin, croissant, cookie, etc. and I go out of my way to stop here for coffee so I can snag a treat. It’s always bustling with a friendly staff and a lot of locals in the neighborhood. They provide coffee from different local roasters. Maroon Creek is soon to be here, too https://marooncreekcoffeeco.com/ well, at least we hope :)

2. Rivers and Roads Coffee - City Park Location (https://riversandroadscoffee.com/)

It’s rare to find a legit coffee shop that also makes (yes, makes) bomb food. Most coffee shops offer pre-packaged burritos or sandwiches from local providers. Rivers and Roads makes some delicious sandwiches for breakfast lunch. Not only that, they have a sweet, unique space. Dog friendly patio, plenty of seating inside, and a passionate staff make this place stand out to me. Oh and they roast all of their own coffee. Although they don’t offer Maroon Creek, their coffee is amazing. Hard to beat a place like this.

3. Crema Bodega at Denver Central Market - RiNo (http://cremacoffeehouse.net/)

Crema is a staple in Denver. They have their own coffee shop down Larimer a few blocks from the Denver Central Market. However, I chose to highlight their outpost inside DCM. Arguably, DCM is my favorite spot in all of Denver. Perfect just about any time of year or any time of day. Always popping and always good food, people, and environment. Stop in and see the Crema outpost right inside and you’ll be impressed. Grab your favorite coffee or espresso drink and hang out in the Market. Take your friends here.

4. Aviano Coffee - Cherry Creek (https://avianocoffee.com/)

Ok, this one is in Cherry Creek, but it still counts as Denver. Only 15 minutes away from downtown via car or 18 minutes via bike along the Cherry Creek Trail if you're moving :)! There are two locations in Cherry Creek only a few blocks away and they are always bumping! That's about all I need to tell you. But, i'll still tell you a little more. Fancy drinks, upscale vibes, aka Cherry Creek in a nutshell. I like to go here for a change and to be surrounded by the fancy Cherry Creek crowd. They have sweet stadium seating in one of their locations. It is unique and a great place to hang with a friend or meet a coworker for a meeting. Highly recommend and I promise you won't be disappointed.

5. Queen City Collective - Baker Location (https://queencitycollectivecoffee.com/)

Queen City is bomb. They have four locations around the city, but I am highlighting the Baker location as it is my favorite. Located in an unassuming building on the corner of the quaint Baker neighborhood, you will adore this spot. Great coffee roasted in house and a few pastry and breakfast options offered. You will not want to leave.

6. Pinwheel Coffee  - LoHi

Pinwheel is a perfect neighborhood spot connected to a bike shop in one of the coolest spots in Denver, LoHi. Come here and try an amazing drink, hang out at the tables outside, check out the bike shop, and enjoy your day. So many locals, dogs, friendly people, and hard working individuals will be found here every day of the week.

7. Sweet Bloom Coffee Roasters - Lakewood Location (https://sweetbloomcoffee.com/)

The best cup of coffee I have ever had was a pour over from the Lakewood roastery/coffee shop. I can't recommend this place enough. With 3 locations around the city, you are sure to be in close-ish proximity to one and you should go here ASAP to get a delicious pour over. I like the Lakewood location because they roast at this location and you get a firsthand view into the craft. They have beans from around the globe and take perfect care into making you a delicious drink.
